Why does the gear have a funky smell?

The armor doesn't just smell -- it grows the smell. When Players sweat, moisture seeps deep into pads, gloves, and liners.  The Warm, damp foam becomes a five-star resort for bacteria.

We use: Heated Air, Electrostatic Disinfectant, Antimicrobial Defense to kill the odor-causing bacteria

What causes that funky smell?

Why does the armor smell bad?

  • Bacteria Love Sweat: Sweat itself doesn't stink; but when bacteria eat it, they release foul-smelling gases.

  • Trapped Moisture: Tossing gear in a bag locks in humidity, creating the perfect bacterial breeding ground.

  • Repeat Offenses: Every time the gear is worn before it fully dries, more bacteria mutiply.

Ignoring Your Gear and Room Creates Odor-Causing Bacteria Colonies:

Bacteria Colonies by Sport

  • Training Mats: 3,000,000+
  • Locker Rooms: 500,000+
  • Hockey Armor: 170,000+
  • Football Armor: 100,000+
  • Lacrosse Armor: 85,000+

Leaving Your Armor In The Bag?

Leaving your gear in the bag is basically marinating it in sweat. No airflow, no escape. Just a bacteria buffet brewing until your next game. That’s why it smells like death when you unzip it.

Airing Out Your Armor In The Locker Room, Gym, or Garage?

Congrats, you turned the room into a stink oven. Only leaving armor in a room might dry it out, but but it slow-cooks the stink. Instead of killing the funk, you're baking it deeper into the armor.

Be Careful When Drying Your Armor In The Sun.

Tossing your gear on the sidewalk in the sun doesn’t “clean” it — it cooks it. UV light cracks the plastic, weakens the padding, and bakes the stink in even deeper. You’re not airing it out, you’re solar-roasting your gear like a piece of meat on concrete.

Be Careful When Dipping Armor Into The Pool

Chlorine Can Damage Fabrics And The Pool Water Can Become Unsanitary.
